After a few years of foolish habits (drug abuse, then alcohol addiction–now sober from booze 6 months; drugs stopped 2 years ago) it seems my ongoing health problem is related to Adrenal Fatigue. It is likely that all the drugs (it was REALLY bad for a while) exhausted my adrenal gland, and now I’m left with this god-awful condition. I am faced with Chronic Fatigue symptoms, brain fog, mental confusion, slight weakness, lack of motivation, etc. Exercise helps but does NOT cure these problems. I've never had a problem with wieght loss before this surgery. I have put on 50 extra pounds and it's very depressing. My energy level has dropped significantly.I don't eat a lot during the day, but at night I gorge. The next morning I feel so guilty, I promise myself "Tonight, I'm not going to eat anything after 6p.m." and I always blow it. I've tried weight watchers and it didn't work so good for me. so in wieght issue i would say steroids and aldosterone are very important because they cause significant wieght gain but u said they removed the gland so steroid is less in ur body

I have adrenal fatigue and feel really bad most of the day. I have been to 2 natropath practitioners and they load me down with supplements which make me feel worse. Is there anyone who had this and can give me more info what to do?
I am not much of a believer in alternate therapies as some may work but how would a person know? It may have a psychological affect and nothing else. I do know the adrenal glands are heavily dependent on vitamin C so i would use that as a supplement. The adrenal glands are heavily involved in stress bot physical and mental the cortex which is the bark has 52 known hormones it makes including cortisol. There was a pharmaceutical product called ACE which was given by injection. It was adrenal cortical extract taken from animal glands. I don't think it is available any more as it's value was in question. A person with true adrenal exhaustion has Addison's disease and the skin turns dark. I think an endocrinologist should be able to prescribe any hormones that are essential to better heath. Only supplying them and rest will make the glands return to normal.
What are some effective treatments for Adrenal Fatigue? Please be as specific as possible. Hormone treatments? Diet? Vitamins and Minerals? What has worked for you? What were your main symptoms with Adrenal Fatigue? Does anyone know of a great Endocrinologist in South Texas?

I would consider kudzu root.
I would also consider flaxseed oil and cottage cheese in mixed fruits sucj a pears, blueberries, peacheces, strawberries, tart cheries.
I would also drink 6-8 glasses of distilled water with a pinch of sea salt for proper mineralization and hyfration,
I would aslo take a tablespoon of raw unfiltered apple cider with a dash of cinnamon in a shot glass of carrot juice three times a day.
There are hundrds of studies for each thing I suggested but really it is your body and you should take what your body tells you to take and not your taste buds.
Bitter greens could help but I would put a little vinegar with them to make the taste tollerable.

My 3 year old ferret's tail is balding along with his massive weight loss and excessive sleeping more than average. and it keeps getting worse, im afriad he has Ferret Adrenal Disease, though i am not sure.
